Replacement is often worth it

Older toilets use substantially more water per flush than current models, and valley water agencies have historically run rebate programs on efficient fixtures. Program terms change, so check what is current before assuming.

Beyond water, a modern bowl generally flushes better with less volume, which tends to reduce the repeat clog calls on older low-flow units from the first generation.
