Sewer camera inspection in Las Vegas

A sewer camera is a waterproof head on a flexible rod, pushed down the line with the video coming back live. A locator transmits from the head so the position and depth of a problem can be marked on the ground above it.

It converts the most expensive guess in plumbing into a known quantity. You see the roots, the crack, the belly or the collapse, and you see exactly where it is.

When to put a camera in the line

• Before buying a home, especially one built before 1990
• After a second main line clog in the same year
• Before authorising any sewer repair or replacement quote
• Before hydro jetting an older line, to confirm the pipe can take it
• When there is sewage odour with no obvious source
• After significant landscaping or foundation work nearby

Ask for the footage

You are paying for information, so make sure you keep it. A reasonable plumber will show you the screen while they work and can usually provide a recording or stills.

That footage is also what you take to a second opinion, or to a seller, or to a home warranty claim. A verbal description of what someone saw is worth much less.

On a home purchase

A standard home inspection does not include a sewer camera. On a 1990s or older valley home, a lateral inspection is one of the highest-value items a buyer can add, because sewer replacement is a five figure surprise that no one discovers until they move in.
